Mooroopna Park Primary School
Striving to achieve excellence
Mooroopna Park is a small school serving families in the greater Mooroopna area, a large provincial town within the City of Greater Shepparton. The school was established in 1980 and is set in a park like environment adjoining Mooroopna Secondary College.
The school draws many of its students from the near-by housing estate. Approximately 40% of students come from indigenous backgrounds. The school runs composite classes and is divided into a junior and senior team for planning and sharing resources.
Extra programs and support include literacy additional assistance, Koorie Literacy, Technology activities, Art, Music, Science, Religious Education, Chinese and PE. The school has a Koorie Educator and Primary Welfare Officer who provide significant support to the students and their families. A strong emphasis is placed on forming a partnership with parents in the education of their children. The school has adopted the motto of a 'no excuse' school, so we strive to have high expectations with learning and social interactions.
