Mooroopna Park Primary School
Striving to achieve excellence
Mooroopna Park is a school of 135 students serving the greater Mooroopna area, a large provincial town within the City of Greater Shepparton. The school was established in 1980 and is set in a park like environment adjoining Mooroopna Secondary College.
The school draws many of its students from the near-by public housing estate with approximately 65% of families eligible for Educational Maintenance Allowance. Approximately 20% of students come from indigenous backgrounds. The school runs composite classes and is divided into a junior and senior team for planning and sharing resources.
Extra programs and support include literacy additional assistance, Koorie Literacy, Technology activities, Art, Music and PE. The school has a Koorie Educator and Primary Welfare Officer who provide significant support to the students and their families. A strong emphasis is placed on forming a partnership with parents in the education of their children. The school has adopted the motto of a 'no excuse' school, so we strive to have high expectations with learning and social interactions.
