At Mooroopna Park Primary School, we are committed to delivering high-quality mathematics instruction through evidence-based, explicit teaching practices. Each numeracy session begins with a Daily Review, where students revisit previously taught concepts to strengthen recall and ensure learning is stored in long-term memory. This consistent review process helps students make meaningful connections and apply their knowledge to new learning.

Lessons are differentiated to meet students at their point of need, ensuring each child is appropriately challenged and supported. New concepts are introduced in small, achievable steps, allowing students to develop deep understanding before moving on to more complex ideas.

Students are provided with high-quality materials, including worked examples and meaningful manipulatives, to support hands-on learning and reinforce conceptual understanding. To build fluency and accuracy, students also engage in regular sessions that focus on automatic recall of number facts, helping them solve problems efficiently and with confidence.
